Dennis J. Hall, FAIA, FCSI, has over thirty years experience in the fields of architecture, interior design, and urban design. He is an award winning architect and construction specifier, with over twenty design and specification awards to his credit including the Young Architects Award from the South Atlantic Region of the American Institute of Architects, the William Dietrich Service Medal from the North Carolina Chapter of the AIA, and five national specification awards, including two Honor Awards from the Construction Specifications Institute. Mr. Hall was also recognized by Engineering News Record as one of the top 25 construction newsmaker of 2005 and by the National Institute of Building Sciences with their prestigious 2006 Institute Honor Award, which “recognizes individuals or organizations that have made exceptional contributions to the nation and the building community.” In 2016, Mr. Hall was advanced to Distinguished Member in the Construction Specifications Institute, CSI's highest honor it can bestow on a member.
As a leader in the construction industry Mr. Hall has served on numerous boards, committees, and panels for various professional organizations and has written and lectured on design and the project delivery process throughout the US and Canada. In 2000 he was elevated to Fellowship in the Construction Specifications Institute and in 2005 advanced to Fellowship in the American Institute of Architects for his notable contributions to the construction industry and the creation of industry standards for the instruments of services for design professionals.
Mr. Hall is a former national President of both the Construction Specifications Institute and Specification Consultants in Independent Practice. He is also a former Chancellor of the CSI College of Fellows. In 2017 The Board of Directors of BSD elected Dennis J. Hall, FAIA, FCSI, as its new Chairman of Board of Directors.
